Cardinal at Wrong Microphone: A lighthearted moment opened the Extraordinary Consistory as Cardinal Giovanni Battista Re, Dean of the College of Cardinals, walked toward the wrong microphone. Smiling, Pope Leo XIV quipped, "In front of everyone, Your Eminence!" before the 92-year-old Cardinal crossed the hall to the correct microphone and delivered his address.

Cardinal: "Consistory Is Tightly Controlled"

The consistory that began today "feels like it was organized by a Human Resources department," one curial cardinal told the Substack.com-Account 'The Pillar' on June 26. The report relies entirely on anonymous sources.
"It's all too tightly controlled. It doesn't feel like there's freedom to discuss the issues we need to discuss. Instead, we're being led by very specific questions on very specific issues in very small groups, without space for open discussion," the cardinal said.
A second cardinal expressed uncertainty about the consistory's agenda: "These are surely very important societal issues and challenges, but I am not sure what we are supposed to add to the discussion beyond talking about personal experiences."
He added: "I don't know what the Holy Father expects of this consistory, if I'm being honest."
"There's too much control over the topics, and too much dispersion. Consistories usually focused on a single topic. How are you supposed to have a substantive discussion in a …Kara

Monk Disappeared from Former FSSPX Benedictine Monastery in France

A monk from the traditional Benedictine monastery of Notre-Dame de Bellaigue in Virlet, central France, has disappeared without a trace.
The monk was reported missing on Wednesday morning, prompting a major search operation by the French Gendarmerie.
Ground teams and aerial units have searched the area around the remote monastery, but after two days no trace of the missing religious has been found.
The search for the missing monk is ongoing.
Authorities have not disclosed the circumstances of the disappearance, and investigators have not indicated whether they suspect an accident, a voluntary departure, or criminal involvement.
According to LaMontagne.fr, two monks cautiously suggested that the missing brother may not have left the monastery of his own accord.
Notre-Dame de Bellaigue is an independent Benedictine monastery that celebrates the Mass in the Roman Rite. It maintained close ties with the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X (FSSPX) until 2019. Since then, the monastery has …Kara

Truth Without Charity Destroys Christian Witness
The Gospel reading warns against the hypocrisy of the Pharisees, who preached well but lacked charity and used their knowledge to condemn others. True faith requires balancing truth with charity, avoiding judgment, and fearing only God, who holds the power of eternal life. We should be ready to die for our faith, focusing on loving and serving God, rather than fearing earthly threats.

When Leo XIV Allowed Illicit Episcopal Consecrations

Having accepted in 2025 bishops appointed unilaterally by China, Leo XIV should not threaten the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X (FSSPX) with excommunication for similar actions, writes Rev Matthew Dimock, a diocesan priest of the Diocese of Charlotte on OnePeterFive.com on June 25.
Rev. Dimock is NOT a defender of the FSSPX.
His argument is that justice requires the Church to enforce its laws consistently, rather than making exceptions based on diplomatic or political considerations.
In late April 2025, during the period between the death of Francis and the election of a new pope, the Chinese Communist Party announced the election of two bishops, an Auxiliary Bishop of Shanghai and the Bishop of Xinxiang. Shanghai already had two bishops and one auxiliary bishop. Xinxiang already had a bishop.
Normally, the Vatican publicly announces bishops before their episcopal consecrations, but in these cases the announcements came only on the day of the consecration.
Rev. Dimock argues that …Kara

As an example of how Catholic clergy were/are treated in China, the UCA (Catholic News agency in Asia) reported in 2007: “In the days before the patriotic congress, Catholic clergy in Hebei province – were pressured by the government to attend the congress."
Bishop Li disappeared after the army forced him to illicitly ordain a bishop. People believed Li was embarrassed to show his face to the faithful for what happened and hid himself in the Cathedral in Cangzhou.
After a few weeks, police officers and other people went to the cathedral and gave the resident priests there an “ultimatum” to hand over the bishop, UCA News reported.
The diocesan Vicar General, Chancellor and two other priests who work at Bishop Li’s house were taken away, detained, and questioned for information on the bishop’s whereabouts. They were warned that if the bishop could not be found, his family and the diocese would face trouble. The officials questioned everybody in the house, including the doorkeepers and …Kara

Iran pushing to end Israel's genocide in Gaza during talks with US: Hamas

Senior Hamas official Bassem Naim held a call with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on 23 June, the Palestinian resistance group announced in an official statement.
“Araghchi expressed his gratitude for the call and for Hamas’s supportive position, affirming that the Islamic Republic will continue supporting the Palestinian people and their just cause until the full realization of their legitimate national rights,” the statement said.
It added that Araghchi told the resistance movement that “Iranian leadership, represented by the negotiating delegation, continues to raise the issue of the ongoing Israeli aggression against Gaza, the occupation’s continuing violations, and what he describes as ongoing genocide.”
According to the Hamas statement, Araghchi affirmed that Iran was pushing for an end to genocide “in all international forums” as well as in “current negotiations.”
He also renewed the call for serious international action “to protect the Palestinian people and compel …

De Mattei: Any Bishop Could Claim a Right to Consecrate Bishops in a Crisis

Italian historian Roberto de Mattei reflected on the announced episcopal consecrations by the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X (FSSPX) in an article published on CorrispondenzaRomana.it on June 24.
"State of Necessity" Cannot Be Self-Judged
For De Mattei, the state of necessity argument is simultaneously "the weakest and the strongest argument".
His question is: "Who has the authority to verify the existence of such a state and determine its beginning and end?"
He argues that if the FSSPX can independently determine when a state of necessity exists, then it also implicitly claims the authority to determine when that state ends.
That would place the FSSPX in a position of judging the Holy See rather than being judged by it.
De Mattei acknowledges that Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre was not a speculative theologian or canonist, but a pastor of souls: "The decisive criterion for him was not the assertion of a right proper to the FSSPX, but the spiritual need of the faithful."
Can Any Bishop …Kara

Florence Archdiocese Funds LGBTQ+ House

Worse than Germany: The Caritas of the Archdiocese of Florence has launched Project Andrea, under which the Archdiocese will work hand in hand with the group Arcigay. The latter is Italy's leading homosexual advocacy organization.
IlGiornale.it reported on June 23 that the flagship initiative of the project is Casa Andrea, a facility open to homosexual young people.
The house will offer "personalized support and protected accommodation for young men and women in [gender] transition between the ages of 18 and 35."
The entire project is funded by the Church through the Italian tax allocation 8×1000 (eight per thousand).
"We are very proud to have opened Casa Andrea and the services connected to it," said Marzio Mori, director of Caritas Florence.
This is only the latest sign of the Florentine archdiocese's closeness to homosexuals, especially since Archbishop Gherardo Gambelli took office in June 2024.

FSSPX Bishops' Coats of Arms: Lions, Wheat, a Swan, and a Lamb

Today, the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X has published the coats of arms and episcopal mottos of the four bishops to be ordained on Wednesday.
Fr Pascal Schreiber's Family Lions
Fr Pascal Schreiber has chosen the motto Virgo Fidelis ("Virgin Most Faithful"), one of the invocations from the Litany of Loreto. Episcopal mottos are usually drawn from the Bible or express the bishop's personal mission.
His coat of arms contains personal references. The two lions are taken from his family's coat of arms. Each holds a golden quill, a canting reference to the surname Schreiber ("scribe"). The colours black, red, and gold for Germany, where the seminar is based in Zaitzkofen.
Fr Michael Goldade's Twelve Ears of Wheat
Fr Michael Goldade's motto, Adeamus cum fiducia ("Let us go with confidence"), comes from Hebrews 4:16.
The defining feature of his coat of arms is the twelve ears of wheat. Besides symbolizing the Eucharist, they recall North Dakota and Kansas, his places of origin and …Kara

@yuca2111 As usual in la la land. Russians liberated those places In Ukraine who VOTED in a legal referendum to become part of RUSSIA ONCE AGAIN!
And of course it's true. The rat rubio said it at the summit. Where do you live? Under a rock? In a cave? Everyone has heard him say it so far. And we made sure to it that they did! This is because you see and hear the truth and immediately deny it every time!
Ukraine will set off the nuke? Wow! No, Europe will. If Ukraine does it, the world already knows Ukraine doesn't have nor know how, nor have what it takes to build one. So of course it will come from Europe. They "might" just give them one to set off. But i doubt they will. But who knows. Maybe trying to protect themselves so Russia can wipe out Ukraine?
Doesn't matter, we were already warned most of Europe will be devastated and countries will no longer exist.
IT IS WHAT RUSSIA IS MEANT TO DO! And she will do an awesome job of it because GOD made sure to it.

Report: Consistory Agenda Changed Because of FSSPX Consecrations

The proximity of the consistory (Friday and Saturday) to the FSSPX consecrations (Wednesday) has allegedly prompted Leo XIV to remove the liturgy from the consistory's agenda. This information was published by Nico Spuntoni on IlGiornale.it, who cited an anonymous cardinal as his source. Although "synodality" was already discussed in January, it has returned to the agenda.
Spuntoni adds three more pieces of information.
- Notable absences at the consistory due to ill health include conservative Cardinals Joseph Zen (Hong Kong), Péter Erdő (Budapest), and Willem Eijk (Utrecht).
- There is unease among the professed members and religious sisters of the Priestly Fraternity of St Pius X, who do not wish to risk incurring a possible excommunication.
- The consistory's agenda has not generally generated enthusiasm among cardinals. Some also dislike the Synod Secretariat's method of working in small groups.

Spain's Bishops Appoint Adviser to Socialist Government to Lead Caritas

Worse than Germany: On June 24, the Spanish Bishops' Conference appointed economist Luis Ayala Cañón as the new president of Caritas Spain, the Church's largest charitable organization.
He previously served on the Spanish Government's Advisory Council for Health and Social Services, reports InfoVaticana.com. He was appointed by Socialist Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez's administration in 2019.
Ayala has also collaborated with left-leaning organizations, including Fundación Alternativas, a think tank widely associated with the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE).
Spain's Socialist government under Sánchez enacted anti-Catholic policies, including legalizing euthanasia, expanding abortion, and advancing gender and homosex legislation.
In its announcement, the Spanish Bishops' Conference made no reference to Ayala's previous government role or political collaborations, highlighting only his academic credentials and expertise in economics and social policy.

Chapter 59 ~ The words of Christ, in the presence of the bride, about how Christ is likened to a peasant, good priests to a good shepherd, bad priests to a bad shepherd, and good Christians to a wife. Many useful things are also explained in this parable.
“I am the one who never said anything false.
The world considers me to be a peasant whose name seems contemptible. My words are counted as foolish and my house is considered a despicable shed. This peasant had a wife who wanted nothing other than what he wanted, who owned everything with him and had him as her master, obeying him in all things as her master. This peasant also had many sheep, and he hired a shepherd to watch over them for five gold coins and for the necessities of his bodily needs. Parish in Paris: "Prayer" Praising Pride Procession

Worse than Germany: An "interfaith prayer vigil" linked to a homosexual march will take place on Friday, 26 June, in the Salle des Colonnes, the parish hall of Saint-Eustache Church in central Paris, France.
The huge and very famous Church of St Eustache was built between 1532 and 1633 and is the second largest church in the city, just behind Notre-Dame.
The event is being organized by the homosexual organization D&J Arc-en-ciel (David & Jonathan) together with affiliated groups.
According to the organizers, the vigil is intended to offer "a moment of gathering, prayer and celebration of our diversity" on the eve of the annual Marche des Fiertés (homosexual march).
The Archdiocese of Paris has been led by Archbishop Laurent Ulrich since 2022.

Fr Nicola Bux to Pope Leo XIV: Do All Possible to Bridge Differences With SSPX

Fr Nicola Bux
Ahead of a Consistory of Cardinals this week, Father Nicola Bux, a close associate of the late Pope Benedict XVI, has written a filial yet firm appeal to Pope Leo XIV, urging him to swiftly “resolve in truth – and only in truth – the many ‘polarisations’ that run through the ecclesial body.”
In an open letter signed on the feast of the birth of St John the Baptist, Father Bux in particular calls on the Pope to build a bridge with the Society of St. Pius X before they consecrate new bishops without a papal mandate on July 1.
“Now that we are experienced in dialogue with people and groups outside the Church,” he writes, “should we not also, and above all, engage in dialogue within our own ranks, doing everything possible to ensure that none of those brothers and sisters whom the Lord has entrusted to us are lost?”
Father Bux, a priest of the Diocese of Bari and a former consulter to the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith and the Dicastery for the Causes of Saints,…
