Known for her generosity and wisdom even before her conversion, she became a devoted catechist who taught the faith, cared for the sick, encouraged others, and helped spread Christianity among her people. De Smet regarded her as an extraordinary example of Indigenous Christian holiness, believing that her life reflected the transforming power of the Gospel despite the missionaries' language and cultural challenges.
