Confirmed: Pope Leo XIV has appointed Cardinal Mauro Gambetti, 60, as Metropolitan Archbishop of Chieti-Vasto. The move brings Gambetti’s tenure as Archpriest of St Peter’s Basilica, Vicar General for Vatican City and President of the Fabric of St Peter to an end.
